The 2-minute POS export that replaces three reports

Most operators look at three POS reports. One export gives you the same information in two minutes.

Most POS systems will export hourly sales by category for any date range as a CSV. That single export replaces:

  1. The hourly heat-map (sort by hour, you see your peaks)
  2. The menu-mix report (sum the category column)
  3. The day-of-week comparison (filter to last 28 days, pivot by weekday)

Set it up once

Make the export a weekly habit. Same time every Monday morning. Drop into a Google Sheet with three saved pivot views. Total ongoing time: 5 minutes.
