Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Australian Good Food Guide Publishing Pty Ltd (AGFG, we, us, our) collects, uses, stores and shares your personal information when you use the Prosper website (the Site), subscribe to the Prosper weekly tips email, or submit a form on a partner offer page. Prosper is a service of AGFG. By using the Site or providing your details to us, you consent to the practices described here.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. What we collect
We only collect personal information that you choose to provide, or that we need to operate the Site. Depending on what you do, this may include:
- Your name, email address and (optionally) the name of your restaurant when you subscribe to weekly tips;
- Your name, email, phone number and restaurant details when you apply for a partner offer through one of our forms;
- Any messages you send us via email or a contact form;
- Technical information such as your IP address, device type, browser, referrer and pages viewed (collected automatically by our analytics tools to help us improve the Site).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. Prosper is intended for restaurant owners and operators.
2. How we use it
We use your personal information to:
- Send you the Prosper weekly tips email and other communications you have asked for;
- Match you with the partner offer you have applied for, and pass your details to that partner so they can contact you (see Section 3);
- Respond to enquiries and provide support;
- Improve the Site, our offers and our communications, including by measuring how people use them;
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Sharing with partners
When you fill in a form on a specific partner offer page (for example a finance, insurance or supplier offer), you are asking us to introduce you to that partner. We share the details you provide on that form with the partner so they can follow up with you. Each partner is responsible for handling your information under their own privacy policy.
Subscribing to the weekly tips email does not share your details with any partner. We only pass your details to a partner when you have specifically applied to one of their offers.
4. Other sharing
We may also share your personal information with:
- Service providers who help us run the Site, the weekly tips email and our forms (for example our hosting, email delivery, analytics and CRM providers). These providers can only use your information for the services we have engaged them to provide;
- Our professional advisers (legal, accounting, audit) on a confidential basis;
- Law enforcement, regulators or other parties where we are legally required or permitted to do so.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cookies and analytics
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working (for example to remember your form session), and to gather aggregated, anonymised information about how the Site is used. We use this information to improve the Site. You can disable cookies in your browser, although some parts of the Site may not work as well if you do.
6. Storage and security
Your personal information is stored with reputable hosting and service providers, including in cloud infrastructure that may be located in or accessible from outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including access controls, encryption in transit and regular reviews of our security practices.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, and for any longer period required by law. When you unsubscribe from the weekly tips email or ask us to delete your details, we will action your request within a reasonable time, subject to any legal record-keeping obligations.
8. Your choices and rights
You can:
- Unsubscribe from the weekly tips email at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send you;
- Ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to stop using your details for marketing purposes;
- Make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at admin@agfg.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time, generally within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL. The "Last updated" date below tells you when the policy was last changed.
