About Prosper

Prosper is a service of the Australian Good Food Guide — built to help the people who run Australia’s restaurants do it better, with less guesswork.

What Prosper is

Prosper is a curated home for the things that actually move the needle for a working restaurant: vetted partner offers in finance, energy, insurance, supply, technology and other operational basics, and a weekly tips email written for people who don’t have time to read another generic hospitality blog.

The AGFG context

The Australian Good Food Guide has been writing about Australian restaurants since 1977. Today AGFG runs agfg.com.au, one of the largest restaurant discovery sites in the country, and operates editorial and supplier programs across the hospitality industry. Prosper is the operator-facing side of that work — turning decades of relationships and audience trust into something useful on the supply side of the business.

How we vet partners

Before any offer goes on Prosper, we check three things:

  • Specialism. The partner actually works with hospitality businesses, not generic SMB. They know the cash-flow shape, the seasonality, and the regulatory environment.
  • The offer is real. We don’t run “up to 50% off” teaser pricing. The saving, terms and conditions are described plainly on the offer page.
  • Operator-friendly process. Application is light, follow-up is human, and the partner is responsive. We pull offers that don’t meet that bar.

Commission and incentives

Some partners pay us. Some don’t. Either way, the offers on Prosper earn their place because they’re useful to operators — that’s the only test that decides what runs. Where a payment is involved, it’s for visibility, not for the offer itself. The deal you see is the actual deal.

Confidentiality and your information

Offers come from our partners — we put them in front of you. When you apply, we pass on the basics they need to reach you: your name, your contact details, your venue. That’s it on our side.

What you discuss with the partner next stays with them. Prosper doesn’t see your financials, your operational data or anything else the partner asks for to do the work. That conversation is between you and them, directly.
