The website / Google My Business pair that lifts inbound bookings

Half of restaurant searches come from Google directly. If your hours are wrong, you’re losing covers.

Google’s “restaurants near me” results take their data from Google My Business. If the hours are wrong, the phone number is wrong, or there are no recent photos, you’re losing covers to the venue next door.

The 30-minute audit

  1. Open Google Maps, search your venue.
  2. Check: hours, phone, address, website link, booking link.
  3. Photo section: 10+ photos, most recent in the last 30 days.
  4. Posts section: at least one in the last 14 days (events, specials, menu changes).
  5. Q&A: answer any unanswered questions.

The compounding bit

Google rewards active GMB profiles in local rankings. The venue that posts a photo every week appears higher than the venue that hasn’t touched the profile since 2024. Two minutes a week. Real money.
