The loyalty tier most venues miss: "regular"

You cant out-points the chains. But you can know your regulars by name. Set a tier for it.

The points-based loyalty programs that win in big chains lose in independent restaurants because the value proposition is just bad maths — you can’t out-discount a 200-venue group on a 5% redemption.

What independents win on

Recognition. Define one tier: customer comes in twice in 90 days. That’s a regular. Add them to a list. The list does three things:

  1. Pre-shift briefing names them.
  2. Their preference is remembered (their bottle, their table).
  3. You ask their permission once to text them about specials.

That’s it

No points, no tiers, no app. Regulars cited “they remember me” as their #1 reason for returning in 80%+ of hospitality customer surveys. Apps come 14th.
